I just got the bad news that a long time WHO member and great friend passed away Wednesday night. Sally Erickson was one of those people that welcomed me whole heartedly when I first joined this great organization. She was always giving me help to learn to ride better and become the best that I could be. She not only helped me out, but trusted me enough to put me on her horses. I qualified numerous times on Rerun for Interstate in flags. She let me ride almost every one of her horses from then on and I was honored to know she had faith in me to not screw up all those great horses she ran. Sally qualified for years on end for Interstate and always did Oregon proud. I know she hasn’t been physically able to compete for years and that many of you new members won’t know who she is, but those of you that watched her ride and competed against her know that we have lost another of the greats. I know this isn’t as eloquent as I would like it to be, but I am writing this with a heavy heart and a lot of raw emotions. Remember to always let the people in your life let you know how much they mean to you and cherish the time you get with them. Take care, Tully
